Sustainability

At England & Company we believe that reduced consumption can mean greater savings, the byproduct of which is our lowered impact on the environment. We’re actively taking steps each year to reduce our carbon footprint. The business including our team members are invested in doing our bit today to reduce our carbon footprint tomorrow.

Here are just a few steps we have already taken at England & Company

  • Over 50% of our correspondence is now sent via our secure document exchange portal - Openspace - saving paper, postage and resource. We are actively encouraging further uptake wherever possible.
  • We use FSC registered, recycled paper where possible and encourage clients to go ‘paper-free’ in our communications.
  • All printers have ‘pause’ buttons – so work is queued and only printed when we know its correct.
  • All the toiletries of the building are ‘refillable’.
  • All the lighting has been changed to energy efficient options.
  • Our heating system was changed in 2023 and is now twice as energy efficient as its predecessor.
  • We have chosen not to have AC – in what can be a hot building - as we’d rather live with the heat than take the environmental impact.
  • We recycle any plastic used and ensure that we don’t coat any of our work binders cards and leaflets in unnecessary plastic.
  • Our team opted to have a locally sourced, refilled fruit bowl in our kitchen, rather than a ‘tuck shop’ so we generate less plastic waste.
  • Our kitchen is stocked with only organic milk as it has a lower environmental impact.
  • Hybrid company car for our director, Cheryl.
